Case Study

Shigeru Ban’s Paper Tea House was sold as part of a Japanese arts auction in 2008. It is made of square paper tubes with steel rod fixtures. The square paper tubes that each wall is made from are also used as a floor surface and furniture. It is a prefabricated structure which allows it to be constructed and disassembled easily.
