How does a self repairing building tickle your fancy?

Ever heard of Bio-Architecture? Dr. Rachel Armstrong and a bunch of other international scientists have been working on something known as 'Metabolic Materials,' (Alive Architecture to you and me,) with a product called Proto Cells.

The aim of this research is to eventually create a selection of materials which are able to adapt to their environment and even repair themselves.
